WHAT I HOPE TO UNCOVER...
The major announcement on the cancellation of the Massey Bridge Project was reported by the Vancouver Sun September 06, 2017. The report was very sparse on penalties to be paid to contractors by the NDP Government for this decision. Seven months later, CBC News reported that the estimated costs for the bridge were considerably less than the amount stated by the Government. Nevertheless, the Government moved forward with a further review of the project with the intention of making an announcement on the findings sometime in the spring of 2018.
The review is now much delayed, and the investigator was appointed only recently. Earlier attempts at an FOI request in October 2017 by independent media produced limited results. I hope to uncover just how many millions of dollars this decision has cost the taxpayers of the Province of B.C.
I think your request was pretty straight forward and was very easy to read and understand. Moreover, your news links in the end highlighted your view point more. Lastly, i would like to say that some numbers in the end would have made it more relevant. But overall, well done!!
ReplyDeleteI liked how specific you were with exactly what you wanted. You listed the kind of files you wanted the staff to look for, which would make the entire process more efficient. When not specifically addressing an FOI request, you should link to the FOI page that proves that there was no named coordinator (as mentioned in Chad's criteria).
ReplyDeleteI think you were very specific letting the person know what you really wanted. Good job! However, if other people already did a FOI request and could not get much information, I am afraid you won't find a lot of new relevant material.
ReplyDeleteI liked your request how you clarified all the information that you want and provided links to that but you didn't linked to the FOI page showing that no name is provided of the coordinator.
ReplyDeleteGood Job! I liked how specific you were with what information you wanted. One thing you should fix is maintaining the same font size for your links.
